Masahisa Takenaka is a Japanese economist and former politician who served as Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy under Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi from 2001 to 2005. He was also a member of the House of Representatives for the Liberal Democratic Party from 1993 to 2005. During his tenure as minister, Takenaka oversaw numerous economic reforms aimed at promoting growth and restructuring the Japanese economy. He played a key role in the creation of the "Big Bang" financial reforms, which aimed to deregulate and modernize Japan's financial markets. Takenaka has since become a prominent commentator on economic and political issues in Japan and continues to be a respected voice in the country's policy debates.
